Student Success Statement

 "I wasn't trying to leave a legacy. I was trying to do what was right."

Dean Smith 

         This statement means that all Dean Smith was trying to do was to coach basketball. He is a coaching legend to everyone from the North Carolina tar heels. All he wanted was to coach and help students that needed the support. He did not plan to leave a legacy behind him once he passed away. All he wanted to do was coach basketball and lead them to a winning streak. The players are not the only reason they won Dean Smith was also the reason they won there games. In his entire career he won 877 games. I think he  deserved all the love and respect. He sounds like a good person. He did not only coached his players he also believed in them. Mr. Smith helped them believe in themselves also.
