Word of honor

Student Success Statement

\Image result for karl g. maeser"I have been asked what I mean by 'word of honor.' I will tell you: Place me behind prison walls-walls of stone ever so high, ever so thick, reaching ever so far into the ground-there is a possibility that in some way or another I might be able to escape; but stand on me on the floor and draw a chalk line around me and have me give my word of honor never to cross it. Can I get out of that circle? No, never! I'd die first."
Karl G. Maeser

This statement means that by giving your word that means that you have to follow it. It's just like keeping a promise you have to be truthful to both. Keeping your word towards someone is a big responsibility because you have to go by what you said. Keeping your word builds trust. For example IDP when it is time to present you have to go by what someone says. If they say they are going to be here at 4 when we present at 5 then you have to just trust that they get here in time. IDP is based on trust and communication with one another. Your word of honor is what can make new friends and build a strong relationship with people. Giving your word of honor is another way of promising someone. They both can be kept individually or with others.
