This statement means that if you keep a promise you can't break it no matter what circumstances you are in. If you keep a promise to someone then that promise is going to be with you for the rest of your life. It also all depends on what the promise is. Making a promise and keeping it is two things you have to value the most. Making promises are not just to make promises for reasons that dont even need promises for. Keeping a promise is what values the most to a person. If you make a promise to them and you break it then they will not trust you again. Making promises to yourself is a big deal especially when you don't commit to it. It hurts you and anyone else that was rooting for you. When you make a promise it doesn't matter it is not big deal. Keeping the promise and staying true to yourself and the person involved is what matters. A promise should never be broken.
